Summary
[edit]Description"Hampshire Gate" on Honey Lane - geograph.org.uk - 138742.jpg |
English: "Hampshire Gate" on Honey Lane. This construction is called a "Hampshire Gate", it consists of a short section of wire fencing where the end uprights (in this case rusty metal) are tied or otherwise loosely fixed to the gateposts, thereby providing an easily removable section of fence, but avoiding the expense of installing a proper gate.
