Notes: The document shows a demonstration on the Nevski Prospect, Petrograd. At the bottom of the photo, one sees three officers, wearing the white uniform of the Imperial Navy: the scene would have taken place before the October Revolution, during the Russian Provisional Government (February-October 1917), presumably.

From the back to the front of the procession, the banners read: "Immediate cease-fire on all fronts", "All power to the Soviets of workers, soldiers and peasant deputies" and "Russian social-democratic Party".

In April 1917, several massive demonstrations of workers and soldiers erupted against the continuation of war in Petrograd; this photo is likely one of them.
