English: 1965 sculpture "Der verbrannte Baum" (the burned tree) by Alexander Silveri is located in the churchyard of Wenigzell, Styria. Deutsch: Statue von A. Silveri im Kirchhof von Wenigzell, Steiermark.
Inschrift: Alexander Silveri (1910 - 1986) kam 1945 in das zerstörte Wenigzell und sah einen verkohlten Baumstrunk aus dem ein frischer Zweig wuchs. Der Gedanke: "Tod - Leben nach dem Tod" ließ Silveri von da an nicht mehr los. 1965 schuf er die Skulptur "Der verbrannte Baum" Aus dem Baum war der Gekreuzigte und aus den Ästen waren Arme geworden, die sich Jesus entgegenstrecken. Anlässlich der 800 - Jahrfeier ließen Gemeinde und Pfarre 2009 diesen Abguss herstellen, der an die bitterste Zeit der Geschichte von Wenigzell erinnert. |
