Description LC-Lot-8333-4: WWI-American Expeditionary Forces. Cootie Killer” A home-made contrivance consisting of a brick oven with a tub over it. Over the tub is placed a large barrel with a wire bottom. Garments, etc., are placed in the barrel and the vapor from the boiling water penetrated the contents, sterilizing them.
