Summary
[edit]Description"Bungarribee" (May 1950) Wm. M. Matthews (9836891705).jpg |
English: Bungarribee house and estate is located in the Western Sydney suburb of Doonside. Thomas Cleaver was the last private owner of the estate by 1950. Following the war’s end, the estate was under the ownership of the Commonwealth, with the Cleaver family still running dairy cattle on the northern section of the land. In 1949, however, the site was assigned to the newly formed Overseas Telecommunications Commission (OTC) so that a new international transmitting station could be built in this location. Sources: |
