| Description |
English: "Bomb Alley" The guano ramp below the gannetry on Mullach an Tuamail. Open to rockfall and other stuff from above, slippy with calf deep guano with the promise of having to abseil through the stuff later. Not a pleasant spot.
One of the catches with visiting an island like this is that the sea and tides change while you are on there. The swell had increased and getting off was rather difficult. The previous year, a BBC presenter had to be rescued from Boreray by helicopter. There are stories of Hirta residents being stranded here for months. |
