Scope | Nominated as the most valued image on Commons within the scope: General Juan Prim, photograph |
Used in | fr:Joan Prim, for instance. |
Reason | New in "Commons", no other photograph of this officer and prime minister of Spain alone. He was one of the heads of the Coup d'Etat and of the spanish revolution of 1868-1869, against the queen Isabella II of Spain. He became prime minister after her falling. Looking for a more democratic monarch, he succeeded in electing Amedeo of Savoia as king of Spain, but was shot in 1870 by unknown assassins, a few days before the arrival of the new king. Alone in scope, studio shot, no geocode is needed. -- Jebulon (talk) |
