Reason | There is only one other picture showing this world known landmark of Spain in his current (summer 2012) status, after a very long restoration of the patio, and refurbishment of the fountain, with lions spitting water again. This one is better IMO. The twelve lions are all different, their story is mysterious (maybe they are representative, not of the Nasrid art, but of the ... jewish art, as they perhaps come from a house of a jewish vizir, and are symbolizing the twelve tribes of Israël. Amazing, in a so arab palace). Alhambra of Granada, Spain. -- Jebulon (talk) |
