Reason | To the best of my knowledge, this is the only picture we have of this version of the cross. I guess the main question is: Is the "Vichy version" worth a subscope? -- Eusebius (talk) |

Very good and interesting. Due to the complicated period, there are at least for versions of the WWII french war cross, each with different models. See here and here (in french). The Daladier one (the first), the Vichy one (this one), the Giraud one (in Algiers), and the France Libre one (by de Gaulle). I'm not sure the scope is good, because the doubt regarding the years. This cross was created in 1941, in order to replace the Daladier one, and concerned essentially the 1939-1940 period, even if given the two or three following years. Maybe the scope "Croix de guerre (État français version)" is sufficient, as there is no confusion possible, because of the ribbon, whose colors are unique among the four versions, and because the État français is only the Vichy political regime ?. Anyway, very good subject.--Jebulon (talk) 15:00, 26 August 2012 (UTC)
