@Martinvl: My vote had nothing to do with my bad knowledge of English. But I eliminated my vote now and hope that there will be others who say that the photo is valuable. And why did you not support the image? Regards - Lothar Spurzem (talk) 17:48, 19 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]
@Spurzem and MB-one: I could not see how this car differs from other Alfa Romeo GTV6s that are destined for other markets.
Many years ago, when I lived in South Africa, I owned a Volkswagen Variant (air-cooled engine) that was designed for the South African market and in particular for use in the interior of that country (Johannesburg is at about 1600 metres above sea level). Unlike the European model, the South African model had scoops over the air vents to catch more air. I cannot see any such differences between the car that is illustrated and those that are destined for the European market. Martinvl (talk) 17:16, 20 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]
@Martinvl: I am not an expert, but I have been made aware, that this model is part of a series of only 100 vehicles which where built in Italy before South African models could be built locally. You can see the badge behind the front fender indicating that this is the 55th vehicle of that production run. That, in my opinion, creates a valid VI scope (underlined by it's use in multiple Wikipedia entries) and would this image eligible for VI status. --MB-one (talk) 17:53, 20 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]
@MB-one: One of the main criteria for a VI is that it should look good when used in other Wikimedia projects (See Commons:Valued images). When this image is displayed without being blown up, the badge that you mentioned is illegible making the car that you depict indistringuishable from other Alfa Romeo GTV6 vehicles. (PS - I corrected one of your "used in " links). Martinvl (talk) 19:47, 20 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]
This image poses a problem for me, it has real value only by the small plate (which is perfectly legible). It's not very didactic and I do not really want to vote for it. But we must recognize that this image does not violate any of the rules of VI and what is perfectly legitimate ... But it may not be enough to pass a vote. --Archaeodontosaurus (talk) 05:13, 22 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]
@Archaeodontosaurus: If you read the "Reveiw procedure" further down this page, you will see the text "... but bear in mind that it is the appearance of the image at review size which matters". I therefore dispute that the plate is legible - I agree that we can see that there is something there, but since the text is only 2 or 3 pixels in size when the review version is viewed, it cannot be read.
