Scope Nominated as the most valued image on Commons within the scope:
Ciudad Guayana
Used in Global usage
Reason Because it is an aerial picture, this photograph shows a large part (roughly one half) of ciudad Guayana. Other pictures in Commons show places of the city, including streets, stadiums and parks. The part shown here roughly corresponds to the former city of Puerto Ordaz. Perhaps that is a better scope, but I am not sure. The view includes the orinoco river, and some of the metallurgy mills that are the main industry of this city. -- Berru (talk)
Review
(criteria)
  •  Comment I intend to review it, but I need some more time to understand the history and mix of both cities (Ciudad Guayana and Puerto Ordaz) so I post this comment mostly to keep this nomination open for some few days more :-) --Myrabella (talk) 16:06, 27 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]
  •  Support The image shows only Puerto Ordaz, but this former city constitutes the modern planned part of the new town of Ciudad Guayana, which is known for this feature—and for the the criticism levelled against that (one can read in en:Ciudad Guayana: "Much critique has been made about its design, which was created by a number of planners from MIT and Harvard in the early 1960s."). In this very special case, the redundant categorization can be accepted. This partial view can be labelled as the best global view available in Commons, and the most illustrative image of Ciudad Guayana at present, IMO. --Myrabella (talk) 12:13, 4 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]
