Scope Nominated as the most valued image on Commons within the scope:
Historic Dravo Cemetery in Elizabeth County, Pennsylvania USA
Used in Global usage
Reason This image best represents the Historic Dravo Cemetery of Elizabeth County, Pennsylvania USA. First created in 1812 as a family cemetery, then established as a community cemetery in 1845, the Dravo Cemetery follows the typical definition of an American rural cemetery. It is the repository for the remains of 708 members of the local community, including the graves of nine veterans of the Civil War and one veteran of the War of 1812. It is now maintained by the Elizabeth Township Historical Society. -- GRDN711 (talk)

Oppose This is just a small part of the cemetery, therefore it does not correspond with the scope. Besides, a less than mediocre quality image. --Palauenc05 (talk) 18:12, 12 November 2021 (UTC) mediocre quality image. --Palauenc05 (talk) 18:12, 12 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

  •  Comment @Palauenc05: Traditionally, American flags are only displayed on the graves of military veterans of which there are at least 11 interred here. The headstones are deteriorating and only 81 of the headstones of the 708 graves have been identified.
  • This image, with the presence of the flag and darkened, anonymous grave stones, was nominated for VI as being most representative of the Old Dravo Cemetery as an American rural cemetery, and therefore, most valuable. Even an aerial image taken in winter, would not be as representative, nor as valued.
  • If you have suggestions, I would be open to better wording on the scope but felt that the image, was most representative of the cemetery as a whole. A scope of “Part of Historic Dravo Cemetery in Elizabeth County, Pennsylvania USA” is technically correct but did not seem to apply uniquely to this image.
  • I disagree with your statement on image quality. The VI requirement is that “the image must look good on-screen at the review size (e.g. 480 × 360 pixels for a standard 4:3 landscape image). Its usability in printed format is not considered.” This image more than meets that requirement. The current QI fixation on pixel peeping for sharpness is not the definition for VI image quality. Thanks for the review. --GRDN711 (talk) 22:39, 13 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]
