  • My suggestion was to withdraw the nomination. This is done by the nominator's statement: "I withdraw my nomination" - not by deleting the template from the list, as was done yesterday by Yovi. Like all nominations also withdrawn ones must afterwards be moved to the archive. I'll do this later and keep the template here for a while to make this point clear to everyone.  Comment - I'd disagree with that. If a nomination is withdrawn, it should be removed, and nothing recorded in the archive. The archive is for successful and unsuccessful nominations; not for something where the uploader may wish, for whatever reason, to have the pic as if it were never nominated in the first place. - MPF 21:53, 16 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I think, your opionion is not the mainstream view. Until now, withdrawals were always handled this way. Furthermore, removing the nomination-template does not delete it. It contiues to exist, but becomes isolated. But if you like, you can start a discussion about this point. Roger McLassus 07:15, 18 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]
