Support I like the contour of the subject as it is drawn against a dark and therefore contrasted background. Good, delicate color of subject and shallow DOF, which brings attention to subject.--Tomascastelazo 03:58, 10 January 2008 (UTC)

Oppose -- Poor exposure choice leading to a too small dof. As for the dark background, that is the result of using the flash and is considered a flaw by many macro purists (not me, BTW) -- Alvesgaspar 20:49, 10 January 2008 (UTC)
Comment A good workaround if you going to take it with FL is to use a 2nd slave-flash (i have a very cheap one -> 30.-) to lighten the bg, especially on static objects (just a productive thought) :-) --Richard Bartz 21:15, 10 January 2008 (UTC)
Question Was there a flash used? Estrilda 07:01, 11 January 2008 (UTC)
- :-) Good question --Richard Bartz 08:54, 11 January 2008 (UTC)
Comment I do not see flash in here at all, the exposure for the flower is perfect, and it is precisely the shallow DOF that makes the image "float" and be separate from the background, even at the expense of some parts of the flower being out of focus, which aesthetically speaking, is irrelevant. It is the dance within the flower itself, the in and out of focus, the contour and the delicate color and rich detail in some parts that make it beautiful. --Tomascastelazo 17:49, 11 January 2008 (UTC)

Oppose per Alvesgaspar + I don't see anything special in this picture, we have a lot of other files looking as good as this one and they're not even 'good quality', and the picture in question is not sharp enough, especially at the ends of the petals and in the centre of the flower. odder 21:07, 12 January 2008 (UTC)
