Info Sandstone head of Buddha surrounded by the roots of a Bodhi tree in Wat Mahathat, old city of Ayutthaya, today Ayyuthaya Historical Park, a UNESCO World Heritage site in Thailand. The city of Ayutthaya was founded by King Ramathibodi I in 1350 and was the capital of the country until its destruction by the Burmese army in 1767. The head of Buddha in Ayyuthaya is one of the most famous landmarks of Thailand. According to a myth the head was stolen and hidden in this place. When the thief came back to recover his loot, he couldn't because the Bodhi tree held it. All by me, Poco2 18:42, 8 April 2015 (UTC)

Comment Unfortunately, the main subject looks slightly blurred to me... and I think slightly offsetting WB toward warm side works well in the shade. Do you happen to have a closer view of the head ? - Benh (talk) 18:44, 9 April 2015 (UTC)
- Hi Benh, as a matter of fact I do have another version with a tighter crop of the head, but I already tried my luck without success...I think I'll give up Poco2 08:08, 10 April 2015 (UTC)
