- Info Farmhouse Ol-Ers in Västeräng, outside Delsbo in Hälsingland (Sweden). Hälsingland is known for its magnificent farmhouses from the 1800s. Today some of the farms are part of UNESCO World Heritage Site Decorated Farmhouses of Hälsingland Created, uploaded and nominated by -- Arild Vågen (talk) 13:57, 24 December 2016 (UTC)

- Comment I love faluröd since my first visit to Sweden. But I am not completely convinced by this image, because the building's construction is strictly symmetric, so an also strictly symmetric photo would probably have more "wow". I have to think about it one more night ;-) -- smial 14:21, 24 December 2016 (UTC)Ps: This is of course a very good image! No offense intended.
- Support Smial has a point, BUT had you done the symmetric thing here you would have missed the second house peeking out on the left. That is what "dots the i" here and brings dynamic to this photo. I found it on the map but it would be better if you added the location coordinates. --cart-Talk 20:03, 24 December 2016 (UTC)
- Info I added location. The farm (still a working farm) consists of more than 20 historic buildings, including a number of barns. The barn in the background is a fine examples of traditional barns (and therefore, a fitting backdrop to the farm house, in my opinion). Thank you both for comments and votes. - Support The colours are lovely and work excellent together. The picture really works for me. --Code (talk) 07:09, 25 December 2016 (UTC)
- Weak Support The colours are obviously wonderful, but at first glance I thought the same as Smial: why not symmetrical?? If the building in the background is needed I would have gone for a more "three-quarter" composition for the main subject (with a wider FOV) if possible. It is still a "wow" image though. -- Thennicke (talk) 12:45, 25 December 2016 (UTC)

- Comment - I've looked at this photo many times, and I read through the reviews above, but though I can certainly see the technical quality of the photo and the composition is certainly perfectly fine, I really don't understand what all of you think makes this a great photo. If any of you would like to help me understand that, I'd be grateful. I've seen remarks about colors, so OK, there is some contrast of colors. I've also seen remarks about the inclusion of the barn. OK, fine, the barn was included. But I still don't get it. A UNESCO site it might be, but I'm not feeling any sense of wow. What am I missing? -- Ikan Kekek (talk) 10:10, 26 December 2016 (UTC)
- My two cents... It has the same cool calm slightly subdued colors and composition as scenes by rural painters like Grant Wood or Norman Rockwell. Perhaps what you are missing is a trip to the country. ;) But if you don't get any feeling for this, don't vote, it's as simple as that. --cart-Talk 23:02, 26 December 2016 (UTC)
- I'm a city boy, but I've seen a lot of countryside. It helps when it's not flat lawn, though. Thanks for giving me your point of view. Out of respect for the overwhelming consensus to support, I indeed will not vote. -- Ikan Kekek (talk) 13:17, 27 December 2016 (UTC)
