- Info I like this kind of tree. The black-and-white photograph emphasizes the structure. It's one photograph of a small series of photographs. // all by XRay -- XRay talk 17:30, 25 January 2017 (UTC)

- Oppose in favor of the color version. -- Ikan Kekek (talk) 21:20, 25 January 2017 (UTC)
Alternative
[edit]- Info But I like the colored version too. My favourite is the black-and-white photograph. May be yours is the colored one. // all by XRay too -- XRay talk 17:30, 25 January 2017 (UTC)
- Support In this case I'd go for the color version. The B&W may bring out some structure, but nothing that's not visible in the color version, the loss of color doesn't add anything to the photo. The B&W also loses some of the dept you see in the color one. --cart-Talk 17:47, 25 January 2017 (UTC)
- Support - Very peaceful, interesting photo. -- Ikan Kekek (talk) 21:20, 25 January 2017 (UTC)
- Comment @XRay: , could you try raising the levels in the RAW file, locally inside the cavity? I'd find this photo much more enticing with more detail visible in there as this is the main purpose of this photo. – Lucas T 22:12, 25 January 2017 (UTC)
- I'll try it and I think it is possible. --XRay talk 06:10, 26 January 2017 (UTC)
- @Lucasbosch: Now it's improved in the middle. Thanks for your hint. IMO it's better now. --XRay talk 05:39, 27 January 2017 (UTC)
- @XRay: I was hoping for a more drastic change in brighness in the shadows, but it seems you would have needed to make a second, brighter, exposure for that and combine it as a HDR image for the effect I was looking for. – Lucas T 09:06, 27 January 2017 (UTC)
- Yes, this may be possible. IMO it is not natural. It would be too much HDR look. There was much dynamic in the light. In the background the sun and nearly darkness inside the tree. Just for your information: the seven images have an exposure time from 30s to 1/20 s (f/13, ISO 100). --XRay talk 10:07, 27 January 2017 (UTC)
- Weak support The color version brings out the earthiness of this scene. The composition is a bit cluttered, but the immensity of the trees and the way it has been hollowed out comes through loud and clear. Daniel Case (talk) 21:04, 26 January 2017 (UTC)
