Devil’s Gulch cheese from Cowgirl Creamery Point Reyes
You're right. The more I look at it, the more I don't like the background. --Frank Schulenburg (talk) 20:58, 8 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]
  •  Comment It´s, in my opinion - and photoshop proves it - that f/22 was perfect. In principle, you did everything right. The focus point was just 3 cm in front of the center. But where is a sharp point on a creamy surface?? I think, the problem is not just the question of a focus point: even, when the used zoom-lens is a really good one, its maybe not adequate for pictures like this. You should use a 35 to 50mm prime lens or - even better - a macro lens. No zoom! It must not be a perfect one, even with a cheap one, you may get better results. Here is a list of lenses, starting with 260 €. The next is the Question of lightning. Look at those here, these softboxes are cheap and easy to handle and give a smooth, controllable light (by enhancing distance). Additionally, you need two of those bulbs (110V of course, not 230!) and you have more light as you need. Maybe a third one from the top makes everything more diffuse without any or just slightly shadows. Every advice jus IMHO, of course. And think about all the californian cheese you will picture (and eat!) in the next two years! ;-) --Hubertl (talk) 10:19, 7 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]
