Cat in Clovelly, Devon, England
  •  Comment - I believe the cat is asleep. It's interesting that you find the leaves distracting, whereas I find them very helpful to the composition because they create a foreground and also provide a kind of partial framing that's a bit of a counterpart to the cat's shape (see the L shape of the leaves, the related obtuse angle of the cat's body and tail and the larger L shape of the part of the outer wall below the window and the part to the left of the window). The field isn't too deep, so we don't IMO need the plant to give us perspective. And as for taking a picture of a sleeping cat, they look better when they're curled up. Daniel Case (talk) 19:41, 23 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]
