1522 The telephone number to help women who suffer violence. A red bench to remember all the women victims of violence, an initiative to raise awareness against violence against women, this initiative aimed at involving Italian municipalities. Photography is certainly not perfect, but with a high symbolic value. Red bench photographed in front of Palazzo Chigi Zondadari in San Quirico d’Orcia as part of the Wiki Loves Monuments. Thanks for your attention.
Apparently just a bench, but I'll explain the meaning: a campaign to support the battle against the violence of women by inviting all municipalities to adopt a bench and paint it red to remember all the women victims of femicide. This bench not only has the particularity of the red color, but also bears the telephone number 1522, an emergency number for anyone who is a victim of violence, often within the family walls, and the wording to come out for anyone who is a victim of violence. And it doesn't seem like a small thing to me, even if on the surface it may seem just an insignificant bench ... but it is not.87.11.128.253 11:15, 13 September 2020 (UTC)PORPOLI8787.11.128.253 11:15, 13 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

  •  Comment Are you suggesting that no matter how good or bad a photo is, if its subject matter is meaningful, it's ipso facto a great photo and one of the very best on the site? Because that's how your argument sounds, and repeating it every time someone votes against it isn't going to make it more convincing. -- Ikan Kekek (talk) 12:29, 13 September 2020 (UTC)*:No, I absolutely don't want any favorable votes. I simply commented on what the bench represents, following comments which boiled down to "I don't see anything special" or "it's just a bench". No controversy on my part, but I reveal to you that I am a woman who seriously believes that violence against women (especially at home) must be defeated. I prefer that you comment "the photo really sucks and does not deserve it, but on that bench I see many battles to fight". I apologize if I did not write well, giving rise to possible misunderstandings.PROPOLI87 (talk) 20:14, 13 September 2020 (UTC)PROPOLI87PROPOLI87 (talk) 20:14, 13 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]
I fully agree about the crucial importance of the fight against misogyny and violence against women, but if I find myself emotionally unable to judge a photo, I don't vote on it. Emotionally charged content can inspire greatness in art, but the subject matter doesn't create greatness by itself. -- Ikan Kekek (talk) 20:33, 13 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you. It's okay with me whether you vote for or against. It is not a question of personal success, it is that I liked the idea of having a photo in the window, even for a single day, in order to bring an interesting topic to the window, that maybe some woman who suffers violence looking at it, would find the courage to denounce and as it says on the bench "rebuilding a future is possible". The Commons showcase is an important place, and I find it really reductive that you only post photos that are simply beautiful and well done. I think we could throw a positive message from time to time.Thank you so much for your moral support.PROPOLI87 (talk) 07:12, 14 September 2020 (UTC)PROPOLI87PROPOLI87 (talk) 07:12, 14 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]
I would say that there have been ugly photos that have been featured, but the point is that FPC isn't about just the message, no matter how important the message is, and I say that although I'm saddened by your correct statement that it could be helpful for this statement to be featured somehow on Commons. So a propos, please work on the VIC nomination a little, so that we can get this passed as a valued image in the right scope. -- Ikan Kekek (talk) 08:55, 14 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Oppose per others, which refers only to the image as such, of course, and not to the campaign it stands for. I expect a very good image to explain itself without having to write a paragraph on it. --Kreuzschnabel 17:34, 13 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]
