Commons:Requests and votes/Putnik
(Redirected from Commons:Administrators/Requests and votes/Putnik)
I am Russian Wikipedia sysop, and I do a lot of work with images in it. I request the adminship here to help Russian users with uploading images to Commons instead of ruwiki, to delete obvious copyvios, and to work with protected pages (e.g., templates, MediaWiki: and so on). At the moment, my English is not very good, but I'm going to improve my language skills soon. ~ putnik 16:23, 8 July 2007 (UTC)

- Strong Support. I know this user with his contributions in ruwiki, so I trust him. — Kalan ? 16:37, 8 July 2007 (UTC)
- Very Support support for the same reason. Rombik 16:54, 8 July 2007 (UTC)
- Support - contribs look good, and we could definitely use another Russian speaking admin around the place. Putnik should also recieve a dopeslap for telling his ru.wp friends to come vote, but since he's not among the "vocal" crowd here, it's understandable. --SB_Johnny|talk|books 17:39, 8 July 2007 (UTC)
- Support per Kalan. I know and trust him. --Obersachse 18:17, 8 July 2007 (UTC) (bureaucrat in ruwiki)

- Oppose after looking over this user's contributions. When looking over his deletion discussions, he does not use {{Fairuse}} as instructed to. Also, I don't know how good he is with enforcing copyright. Perhaps patrolling newimages and/or reviewing flickr images should help, but this RFA is premature. - After this comment I use {{Fair use}} and other versions of {{Speedy}}. =) ~ putnik 22:05, 9 July 2007 (UTC)
- Neutral From one side - great job with updating Main Page on various languages. From other side - little interaction with users and community, in deletion requests, etc. --EugeneZelenko 14:10, 10 July 2007 (UTC)
- Support I have interacted with Putnik on non-Commons related matters and trust that he'll be a good admin here. Cary Bass demandez 17:12, 12 July 2007 (UTC)
- Support Although Eugene is, I think, quite right to suggest that this is not a clear, easy case, I am confident that Putnik is now sufficiently acquainted with commons and commons policy as to make likely, in view of his being familiar with ru.wp and speaking Russian, that he should have, when acting qua admin, a net positive effect on the project. - Support, I think he will get experience with time and assistance from other admins. / Fred J 09:41, 13 July 2007 (UTC)

But i know Putnik in Russian Wikipedia as very responsible and efficient admin. I think he can be helpful here. OckhamTheFox 19:14, 14 July 2007 (UTC)
- Activity on the Russian Wikipedia does not have anything to do with anything here. You must make a decision based on Commons contributions. (→O - RLY?) 21:31, 14 July 2007 (UTC)
- Does it mean that it is not alowed for me to cast may vote or express an opinion? As one of admins in Russian Wikipedia i have seen that Putnik is working very hard on uploaded pictures (i.e. querying users for license status) in our local wiki. OckhamTheFox 22:14, 14 July 2007 (UTC)
Of course notWell, of course you can voice your opinion. What I say is that contributions on the Russian Wikipedia don't count towards becoming an administrator on Commons. (→O - RLY?) 23:01, 14 July 2007 (UTC)

- Neutral. I do not see a demonstration of commons compatibility. Then again I do not really know what kind of contribution user had on russian wikipedia. I am hence undecided. -- Cat chi? 19:23, 14 July 2007 (UTC)

- To all supporters of this candidate who have a rationale of another Wikimedia project (except meta), Commons is not Wikipedia. Also, please use polling templates when you voice your opinion, since this is a multilingual project. (→zelzany - framed) 17:04, 8 July 2007 (UTC)
