supreme overlordan admin at Commons. Lately I have been putting in little advice snippets but I'm at a loss here, sheis already perfectno that's not it,is impossible to tell anything to and bossy to boot, no that's not it either... I'm at a loss ... because she is someone who already knows where her towel is. Promoted. ++Lar: t/c 00:44, 16 January 2008 (UTC)

Alison is a highly trusted user on the English Wikipedia, where she is an admin, checkuser, and supreme overlord. She also has OTRS access. On Commons, she has done some deletion requests work, and has also participated heavily in translation stuff. I'm sure Alison has a good knowledge of policy and of how stuff works, and I'm sure she'd be able to help out with our backlogs. Thus I present Alison to the community. — Giggy 23:52, 8 January 2008 (UTC)
- I'm absolutely honoured and delighted to accept, Giggy - Alison ❤ 00:01, 9 January 2008 (UTC)
- Some background: I'm bilingual, English and Irish Gaelic and also have rusty high-school French. I'm also sysop on the Irish language wikis and do a lot of localisation and translation there and on Betawiki/Translatewiki. As an OTRS volunteer, I'm getting more involved in license verification and in checking and comparing image revisions between enwiki and Commons (including deleted ones). As admin, I would be a lot more involved in the day-to-day work here as there's quite a lot to do :) - Alison ❤ 00:01, 9 January 2008 (UTC)

Neutral Patrícia msg 16:11, 9 January 2008 (UTC) Whereas Alison has good, consistent work and is certainly a trusted user, I see very little image tagging and subsequent user interaction. I have no problems in trusting admin tools, I just don't see the user's need for them - hence the neutral, not the oppose. Sorry.
- Perhaps you should know that she regularly asks other users to do things on her behalf. She's also active on OTRS permissions, so while she may not be that active, admin tools would come in handy. Majorly (talk) 16:18, 9 January 2008 (UTC)
- Yes, perhaps I should know that, and that is useful info, but anyone can tag images and warn users. If I don't see a user doing that, I will still think that the user doesn't need admin tools. Patrícia msg 14:17, 10 January 2008 (UTC)

Oppose (His/Her contributions in finnish wikipedia is vandalism) --Johney (talk) 11:56, 10 January 2008 (UTC)
- Is this the same person as Alison here ? I'm not Nick on the Italian Wikipedia for example, could User:Alison be someone else on the Finnish Wikipedia ? Nick 12:07, 10 January 2008 (UTC)
- Possibly as worrying is the fact that "Johney" is indefinitely blocked on en wq - I will assume good faith but equally ask Johney to find out what the real Alison is like and vote on that basis, thanks --Herby talk thyme 12:23, 10 January 2008 (UTC)
- En-wikiquotes Johney isn't me. --Johney (talk) 19:18, 10 January 2008 (UTC)
- Yes, it's most definitely a vandal account impersonating her. Majorly (talk) 12:27, 10 January 2008 (UTC)
- There's been a vandal impersonating some users, including Alison, on other wikis, such as pt.wiki. Definitely not the same person. Patrícia msg 14:17, 10 January 2008 (UTC)
- The above account was created on fiwiki by Johnny the Vandal/Mike Garcia. He's a particularly prolific interwiki vandal who enjoys stalking and harassing women. Most of the checkusers and stewards here will be familiar with him; I'm currently working to have him shut down at his ISP. He was on Commons yesterday, as it happens. Here are some more examples. I've tried to have the fiwiki account usurped but haven't been able to :( - Alison ❤ 15:37, 10 January 2008 (UTC)
- Why couldn't You not usurp it? :( --birdy geimfyglið (:> )=| ∇ 15:44, 10 January 2008 (UTC)
- The steward at the time was reluctant as there are local 'crats there and that I should ask one of them. When I did, I was told that because there were edits on the account (yes, vandalism) it couldn't be moved :( - Alison ❤ 16:00, 10 January 2008 (UTC)

- Nooo. :) Well, yes, because Spacebirdy just kindly asked a 'crat to rename the account, so I was able to claim it an hour ago! Thanks, Spacebirdy :) - Alison ❤ 20:22, 10 January 2008 (UTC)
