To determine the copyright status of this magazine, I followed the steps described at http://onlinebooks.library.upenn.edu/cce/decisions.html. It does not appear in this comprehensive list of first copyright renewals of periodicals up to 1950. I searched the registered works database at http://cocatalog.loc.gov/ for the titles "Sunshine & Health", "Sunshine and Health", and "The Nudist". The only entry listed there is document number V1956P072, which appears to be a transfer of copyright from 1982. I therefore conclude that, per Commons:Hirtle chart, all issues published up to 1963 are in the public domain, because, even if they were initially published with a copyright notice, there was no renewal of copyright.
