Identifying the pic sources
[edit]- Bridgeman has the sources of many of the pics: [1]
- Hollaender (1944) has b/w photos of the Chetham illustrations: The pictorial work in the "Flores Historiarum" of the so-called Matthew of Westminster. (Ms. Chetham 6712)
Other MSS
[edit]Vaughan (1958) discussion the textual formation of "Ch" and "E": [2]
According to Judith Collard (2008) [3], there are ten surviving illuminated versions of the work from the second half of the 13th century.
- "They follow the pattern established in Chetham MS 6712 that consists of a series of images of kings that begin with Arthur, but focus in particular on Edward the Confessor and the post-conquest monarchy. Most representations show coronation scenes..."
