The Straw-necked ibis (Threskiornis spinicollis), forages on open grassy areas and occasionally in the waterways of Chermside. Unlike its relative, the supremely opportunistic Australian white ibis, the Straw-necked ibis confines itself to its natural diet and habitat. As such it is held in much higher regard than its relative.
