English: The riddle of "the southwest building" has not been solved yet, and so it retains a mysterious name. What is known is that it represents more luxurious living quarters off the southwest corner of the Leonidaion. It had its own internal kitchen and latrine, as well as heated rooms, and yet some packed clay floors indicate probable use for training. Use of marble statuary was higher than anywhere else. An abbreviated victor list was found in a drain. A private athletic club has been suggested or some sort of Roman imperial or official residency. Most of the photographs were taken across the Leonidaion. It can be confused with the south thermae, except that the latter are more fragmented and lack the windows and doors of the fomer.
