The British fourth-rate frigate HMS Mary Rose (48 guns), launched in 1654 as Maidstone and renamed after the Restoration. She fought in the Anglo-Dutch Wars, against the barbary pirates in the mediterranean, in the War of the Grand Alliance and was captured by the French in 1691.
