English: The Golden Valley, California lies between the two mountain ranges: the Lava Mountains stretch across the northwestern portion of the valley, topped by Dome Mountain at nearly 5,000 feet, and the Almond Mountains enclose the valley on the southeast, rising to 4,500 feet. In 1994, the United States Congress designated 36,536 acres in the area as the Golden Valley Wilderness and is managed by the Bureau of Land Management.
