On this site was originally the King's Hall, later demolished. This cinema was built and opened in 1931, and renamed as The Gaumont in 1937, lasting until 1960. Since then it has been a furniture showroom, DIY/hardware store and is now the Liverpool Lighthouse, a religous gospel music & arts centre.
