The Dundee Wolf with painted teeth is a 19th-century taxidermied wolf, which originated in the Dundee Museum collection, then was passed to Manchester Museum. Its teeth are painted on the animal's right side only, to make the mouth appear bloody for melodramatic effect, in line with the requirements of the era.

On the animal's left side there appears to be no paint - so that side has possibly been cleaned of paint, or perhaps the exhibit was originally displayed so that only the animal's right side could be viewed. The result is that today, when viewed from its left (unpainted) side, it looks as if it could be an amenable domestic dog, being fairly small, fluffy, and white.
