English: Deperming, or degaussing, is a procedure for erasing the permanent magnetism from ships and submarines to camouflage them against magnetic detection vessels and enemy marine mines.
The Degaussing Range in Sydney was built during World War II on the east side of Bradleys Head, Sydney Harbour. There is now little left but some brickwork, pipes and stumps, which are situated within Sydney Harbour National Park.
