- English: The first lion standing at the right side of the monumental entrance of the Arsenale in Venice is an Ancient Greek sculpture ("restored" in the late 17th century), originally at Lepsina on the road to Athens. It was brought to Venice by Francesco Morosini, who conquered Athens and the Peloponnesus in 1694.
