English: Angus McDonald (1727 – August 19, 1778) was a prominent Scottish American military officer, frontiersman, sheriff and landowner in Virginia. McDonald served in various military leadership roles in the French and Indian War, Dunmore's War and the American Revolutionary War. McDonald was the progenitor of an American branch of the Clan MacDonell of Glengarry that has included accomplished military leaders, educators, politicians and government officials.
